Let’s Catch Up!

Jul

22

Good morning friends & blog perusers!

We are in the thick of wedding season and it has been too long since I hopped in here to say hi to everyone cheering this little studio on.

Last week was a fun and busy one! We photographed three weddings in six days. It was so much fun but we were definitely busy bees. We now have TWO WEEKENDS in a row blocked off for Clynn and I to relax, celebrate his birthday (Clynn turned 32 yesterday!!!), catch up on editing and making sure all of our couples are taken care of.

We’ve had some big changes the last few weeks!

1.) A new office!

This studio has relocated to Tacoma, Washington! We officially have a business address and office in Tacoma! We debated between Seattle and Tacoma for a long time. I love Pioneer Square in Seattle, and I still might have a studio there some day, but for now we believe Tacoma is up and coming for millennials and the art scene! It’s also likely to be closer to the property we buy for our forever home.

I love all of the historic buildings and being on the waterfront. The view is seriously amazing. My office is in the blue building neighboring McMenamins Elks Temple Hotel. Let me know if you’re in the area and want to snag a coffee/drink and take in my view! I’ve probably been editing and designing and could use a break.

2.) No more Instagram posts!

(but still stories!)

I know, this is a crazy one for my industry! The truth is, if I hadn’t set that into effect, I’d be there instead of here right now typing this out in a place you’d likely never see (thanks to an average 13-20% outreach for Instagram accounts). Unlike Instagram, I control this platform! Things are fed to you chronologically instead of through an algorithm, and I’ve booked far more brides here than through Instagram. Clynn and I both decided, though the less “popular” option, it’s the best place to check in, share (uncropped) photos, and connect with you all on a regular basis.

For now, I will still be using Instagram stories for behind the scenes, video updates, and sharing some sneak peeks from weddings this season so definitely still check in for candid fun! We have a beautiful graphic by XO Lauren Pace (responsible for the studio’s beautiful visual brand elements since 2016) that will be a series of 6 posts. This will be my final posts for the summer! Those should be popping up sometime this week.

Follow along on Instagram!

3.) Clynn and I time traveled.

Seriously though. Who remembers us celebrating our seven year wedding anniversary in May? Well….we just realized last week that we fubbed that up big time. Eight years. We’ve been married eight years and we celebrated our seven year twice……..WHAT?! We’re celebrating extra big for his birthday since we came to the realization around the same time. We deserved an entire year more credit!

4.) New Email Address!

hello@jaclynnwilkinson.com is officially functioning!!!!

It was long and painful, but I finally figured it out! You can email me at this address & will likely be receiving emails from me from it. We will slowly transition from using any other email address as our main communication hub.

We’re so excited for our upcoming August and September weddings and plan to keep going strong for an extended wedding season through November!

Thanks for catching up and stay tuned for more regular blog posts now that Instagram and Facebook have been giving the extended copy boot!

Today? I’m resting from weddings and birthday shenanigans while preparing sneak peeks from Saturday’s wedding & communicating with our editor for upcoming completed galleries! There is a mountain of laundry to catch up on and a few comforting mugs of coffee left to consume. ♥

I hope you have an amazing week!

Sincerely, Jaclynn

THE LATEST

We’ve done pretty well on our summer bucket list! Top of the kiddo to-do’s was a fire and smore’s. Not pictured: Pizza Sandwiches wrapped in foil. They weren’t a huge hit. This was our last family day at Am’s house in Rockport before she moved. I’m happy we were able to make some cozy memories […]

I google myself once in a while. Not always a great idea as you spend more and more time working with thousands of people over the years but I thought I’d give it a go today. I was pleasantly surprised to find my name included under Tacoma Top 10 Wedding Photographers. I was scrolling through […]

Sarah and Michael’s family hosted a cozy, close friends and family, Private Estate Wedding in Ronald, Washington! When I arrived, it had begun to rain. Luckily, the family was prepared with a covered event tent just in case. The rain hung around through the ceremony (with a little thunder, too!) and couple’s photos. Then, cleared […]
