Nomadic Weekly Flow

Nov

25

Once every couple weeks I wake up on the road next to a suitcase and think “WHAT DID WE DO?!” & it takes a minute to remember we can go and do anything we want with nearly 100% schedule & financial flexibility.

We were going to drive to Vegas this week before second guessing the possible unrest in Nevada right now…I can’t wait to see all the places we’ll travel in 2021!

Our new schedule includes Home Base (near the studio) Wednesday – Sunday. We’re finally feeling our Nomadic Weekly flow.

Because of our life as wedding photographer’s, we find trying to fit in a “weekend” on the typical weekend of Saturday & Sunday, we miss out on a ton of family time! The weekend is the most popular time for weddings and photoshoots so we’ve created our own weekend days.

We check out Sunday night, and return to work Wednesday. I’m pretty excited to have family scheduled time off, regularly each week, for the first time since I launched this company in 2015. We used to just keep our open weekends super sacred…but they were often few and far between.

Now that Clynn works for The Studio, we have the flexibility to make this happen! We’re so excited to splurge extra on our accommodations over the “Wilkinson Weekends”.

If you’ve never used Airbnb Before: Check out with this link for up to $65 off your first booking!

I’m still figuring out how to completely unplug during these two days each week. It’s a Monday & Tuesday, so people will definitely expect to hear from us on these normal business days. We’ll ease into it but for now, I’m still answering emails within 24 hours Mon-Fri.

We’ve done pretty well on our summer bucket list! Top of the kiddo to-do’s was a fire and smore’s. Not pictured: Pizza Sandwiches wrapped in foil. They weren’t a huge hit. This was our last family day at Am’s house in Rockport before she moved. I’m happy we were able to make some cozy memories […]

I google myself once in a while. Not always a great idea as you spend more and more time working with thousands of people over the years but I thought I’d give it a go today. I was pleasantly surprised to find my name included under Tacoma Top 10 Wedding Photographers. I was scrolling through […]

When Clynn and the boys and I were nomadic we spent two or three nights at Hotel Indigo Everett Waterfront and I had wanted to revisit ever since! About a year later, Am and I needed a little local get away after a crazy week it was an easy and incredibly satisfying go-to! As someone […]

Sarah and Michael’s family hosted a cozy, close friends and family, Private Estate Wedding in Ronald, Washington! When I arrived, it had begun to rain. Luckily, the family was prepared with a covered event tent just in case. The rain hung around through the ceremony (with a little thunder, too!) and couple’s photos. Then, cleared […]
