Red Barn Studios

I’m so excited to finally be blogging Maranda and Shaun’s wedding at Red Barn Studios!

If you’ve been following this wedding season you’d know Maranda was the second shooter at mine and Clynn’s wedding! She was just in highschool and took some of our absolute favorite images from our wedding day.

When I saw her and Shaun were engaged I hoped she’d reach out to me. She did and I was so excited to see the experience turn full circle for us.

Their family and friends were so welcoming and the vendors at Red Barn Studios did an amazing job!

Maranda and Shaun chose to have an outdoor ceremony with an indoor cocktail hour and reception. Red Barn Studios allowed for cocktail hour to take place on ground level with a beautiful reception staged upstairs in the main barn reception area. I love when wedding days can be separated from location to location throughout the day. It helps each segment feel unique and interactive!

Red Barn Studios is in Chehalis, Washington. I had Angel & James’ wedding just a couple days before Maranda and Shaun so I stayed at The Tin Shed nearby. This way, I could rest up and be in the area for the rehearsal party the day before!

I don’t go to wedding rehearsals often but am always happy to when I’m available and nearby when they take place!

The rehearsal threatened rain but we ended up having beautiful weather the entire wedding day!

By the time sunset formals rolled around the wedding celebrations had drawn to a close. It was so nice to not worry about getting them back to a reception and enjoy couples portraits as long as we had light!

Enjoy each pretty detail, the most beautiful light, perfect wind moments, a fun barn, and the cutest family!

Congratulations, Maranda & Shaun!

The in between

Life has been very romantic lately. Unknown and confusing and both flighty and grounded all at once. I remember being 14 and seeing my entire life by your side. Life is wild. I remember a water bottle and abandoned bleachers. I remember axe body spray and the way I had never been kissed. I know […]

Nirvana & I think of you

I hope you know better than to think I’d want to be anywhere but here right now. It was true on NYE and it’s true right now in my car outside the café. This may have felt seamless. Too seamless. Happenstance. But I’m here on purpose, now. I see your soft heart and I see […]

I hope you know better

You’ll walk through a glittering white veil, uncharacteristically soft compared to what you’ll find behind it. It has no need to keep you out. You quickly realize it’s the aura within that turns most around. The texture disorients. I’ll already be inside. What do you see? Upon first impression, you’re in a desert. Interesting considering […]
