Studio Work Begins

Mar

23

I misplaced my tripod attachment for my camera so getting to work with my new studio set up has been delayed much longer than I wanted to. While I was in Vegas, Clynn ordered a couple back drops and a few soft boxes for me to play with when I got back. I’m so stoked!

Today, I set up a bunch of albums and books to support my camera body and got to shooting anyway. My sister called literally the second after I snapped my first shot and volunteered to come down later today for me to really dive in. It’s not easy to be the photographer and the model. haha

But here it is. The first of 3 or so shots in the studio with a real set up!

Studio Work Begins

I can’t wait to breathe fresh life into studio work for modern photography. People have written it off to favor natural light and landscapes TOO MUCH in my opinion. Far too much.

Are we portrait photographers or landscape photographers? If you want to be both, GREAT! However…you should probably recognize that’s what you’re doing when you photograph mountains with a couple as big as ants in the corner…and start taking some landscape classes as well.

It is beautiful outside, but what are we capturing? How many details are we competing with to showcase our subject?

New studio work posting Thursday!!!

Sincerely, Jaclynn

I google myself once in a while. Not always a great idea as you spend more and more time working with thousands of people over the years but I thought I’d give it a go today. I was pleasantly surprised to find my name included under Tacoma Top 10 Wedding Photographers. I was scrolling through […]

When Clynn and the boys and I were nomadic we spent two or three nights at Hotel Indigo Everett Waterfront and I had wanted to revisit ever since! About a year later, Am and I needed a little local get away after a crazy week it was an easy and incredibly satisfying go-to! As someone […]

Sarah and Michael’s family hosted a cozy, close friends and family, Private Estate Wedding in Ronald, Washington! When I arrived, it had begun to rain. Luckily, the family was prepared with a covered event tent just in case. The rain hung around through the ceremony (with a little thunder, too!) and couple’s photos. Then, cleared […]
