Alaska Photography Retreat | SJP Continuing Education

Jan

18

This time last week I was spending my evening getting to know a group of the most amazing fellow photographer ladies in Wasilla, Alaska! We had multiple hours of instruction, mentoring, & Q&A by Kylee Ann Studios, (nearly) endless hours of sunlight, three GORGEOUS styled shoots at Eklutna Lake in Anchorage, AK, took in the views, and made some awesome new photographer community connections.

Here at Sincerely Jaclynn Photography, we are always investing business income back into providing an improved experience for current and future brides, mommas, and newborns! As we prepare to bring on more official collaborates, second shooters, and preferred vendors continuing education is at the top of my requirements list for who is invited on board. Technology is improving, generations are changing, marketing strategies always shifting, creative ruts inevitable. Investing back into workshops, styled shoots, mentoring, online and in person courses will always be one of our biggest values in and out of the studio.

It was lucky Kylee had so many other girls to serve and pay attention to or I’m sure I would have drained her past exhaustion and cried all over her lap. THIS WOMAN you guys. She is probably to account for 30% of SJP’s success. She is my mentor and from a distance (in my introverted eyes) my Utah BFF.

KAS’s primary photographer, Rachel, and her family provided the cutest little cabin on the lake for all of us to camp out in! Having worked with Rachel on a wedding of mine through some technical computer difficulties I knew before meeting her in person that she was one of the most patient people ever. Her spirit was so calming and I swear to goodness this girl never stops serving. She answered so many of my questions and helped guide my thoughts to new places that will better serve my family and business. I am so grateful to have her influence sprinkled in SJP as well.

To fellow photographer’s or aspiring photographer’s who follow my blog, DEFINITELY consider investing in one of these workshops. Illinois Photography Workshop / Utah Photography Workshop. (But just between you and me and my entire following—they will be going to Hawaii in a couple years and my team (hopefully) and I will be the first to sign up!!!)

So this is me working, learning, traveling, and picking up EVERY LITTLE THING I CAN from ten of the most amazing people living in my tribe of up and coming, thriving, just beginning, and creative photographer’s from all around the U.S.

P.S. Alaska. You da bomb.

We’ve done pretty well on our summer bucket list! Top of the kiddo to-do’s was a fire and smore’s. Not pictured: Pizza Sandwiches wrapped in foil. They weren’t a huge hit. This was our last family day at Am’s house in Rockport before she moved. I’m happy we were able to make some cozy memories […]

I google myself once in a while. Not always a great idea as you spend more and more time working with thousands of people over the years but I thought I’d give it a go today. I was pleasantly surprised to find my name included under Tacoma Top 10 Wedding Photographers. I was scrolling through […]

When Clynn and the boys and I were nomadic we spent two or three nights at Hotel Indigo Everett Waterfront and I had wanted to revisit ever since! About a year later, Am and I needed a little local get away after a crazy week it was an easy and incredibly satisfying go-to! As someone […]

Sarah and Michael’s family hosted a cozy, close friends and family, Private Estate Wedding in Ronald, Washington! When I arrived, it had begun to rain. Luckily, the family was prepared with a covered event tent just in case. The rain hung around through the ceremony (with a little thunder, too!) and couple’s photos. Then, cleared […]
