Washington State Fair Events Center | Kiersten & Eric

Aug

03

Kiersten and Eric eloped to the Cayman Islands with their closest friends and family. Still wanting to celebrate with extended family after their dream wedding, they all decided to host a reception at the Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup, Washington.

Elise, owner of Forever-B Wedding and Event Coordination, did an amazing job setting the scene and coordinating the day. Family, friends, and SJP helped set the tables and she made sure the final touches were perfect. I love when my couples have wonderful day-of coordinators and wedding planners. It’s so nice for everyone to have a go-to person who isn’t someone that should be relaxing and enjoying the day with their friends and family. Having a professional coordinator makes the biggest difference in the atmosphere!

After photos of the venue were complete, I made my way to Kiersten and Eric’s new home. They had just moved in so the big open clean spaces were so perfect for the wedding party to get ready and celebrate in!

Krystal Bynum is an AMAZING makeup artist. Kiersten and the girls looked magnificent all.day.long. Krystal works for Clinique at Macy’s but that’s not how Kiersten found her! They are great friends. I love when professional wedding vendors are also friends and family! Having the opportunity to be valued by your friends for your work is so special. I would love to work with Krystal again in the future!

After everyone was ready and dressed we made our way to the fairgrounds for bridal party photos! We jumped from inside to out as we worked with the rain and found the perfect compromise of standing right inside the barn out of the rain with natural light right in front. They are now some of my favorite bridal party photos to date! These friends are so close and such a hoot. Their laughs were contagious.

Before Kiersten and Eric made their grand entrance to greet friends and family, they played their wedding video from the Cayman Islands for everyone to see for the first time. The video was beautiful and it was as if we had been there with them watching the ceremony. Transitioning from their personal vows to the reception was natural and fun!

If you are considering eloping for a private ceremony but still want to celebrate with extended friends and family, this model was perfect. Seeing the video really broke the ice. Everyone was excited to celebrate with Kiersten and Eric! Congratulations on a beautiful reception and dream wedding day! Thank you so much for choosing SJP to document the fun! ♥

The in between

Life has been very romantic lately. Unknown and confusing and both flighty and grounded all at once. I remember being 14 and seeing my entire life by your side. Life is wild. I remember a water bottle and abandoned bleachers. I remember axe body spray and the way I had never been kissed. I know […]

Nirvana & I think of you

I hope you know better than to think I’d want to be anywhere but here right now. It was true on NYE and it’s true right now in my car outside the café. This may have felt seamless. Too seamless. Happenstance. But I’m here on purpose, now. I see your soft heart and I see […]

I hope you know better

You’ll walk through a glittering white veil, uncharacteristically soft compared to what you’ll find behind it. It has no need to keep you out. You quickly realize it’s the aura within that turns most around. The texture disorients. I’ll already be inside. What do you see? Upon first impression, you’re in a desert. Interesting considering […]
