Airbnb Office Model

May

I have a new office model! Airbnb is the new host of binge work weekends for this little studio.

If you’ve stalked my blog enough or followed along on social media you know Clynn and I tried really hard to build my dream office out of a vintage camping trailer…

that didn’t work out so well.

Turns out, we’re not professional builders + putting a massive time constraint on a large project doesn’t always work out like in the T.V. shows.

The boys now have an awesome playhouse with no door and leaky windows and we have a cute place to sit and talk in the evenings when we need a change from our zen garden….so not all is lost. 😉

However, the issue of me still needing an office came up. I have an office in our home but staying focused is extra difficult with kiddos knocking down the door and even Clynn walking in randomly. It’s hard to focus at home with little ones!

I proposed two ideas. Clynn proposed one.

Mine were to purchase a complete camping trailer that was ready to go with a larger budget so we had to do nothing but paint/decorate. (Biggest issue being we’d also need a truck/larger vehicle for towing.) The second idea was to get in on a lease for a commercial studio/office space again.

Clynn saw me taking girls weekends with my friends via airbnb. I was having these awesome vacations and the money? It wasn’t much. Spread out over a year it comes out to be the same as buying another trailer or getting an office lease if I do it twice a month. (Clynn is the studio numbers guy.) I also get to visit new cities, eat amazing food, network, and have the flexibility to shuffle the budget for extra extravagant stays between cute humble ones.

This also allows me to binge work (my favorite kind of work). While doing little maintenance things throughout the week, I know I can wait until an airbnb weekend to do heavy editing, blogging, difficult class work, and design.

So, I’ve decided to become an Airbnb Ambassador! (I watched Isn’t it Romantic last night. watch it to get the joke.)

I’ll be doing 1-4 airbnb stays a month (depending on how busy things are). I’ll plan 20-40 minutes of my stay to take some photos and do a quick review here on the blog at each location! I hope you enjoy the fun local (sometimes local) travels and find a cute place to stay yourself!

If you stay at one of the locations I’ve reviewed please use #jwsairbnb

If you think I should check out your town/a specific restaurant/site, let me know and I might just put it on the schedule!

Comment below and let me know what you think of this new Airbnb Office Model!

I’ll see you on the road! ♥

Sincerely, Jaclynn
