Tacoma Boat Elopement

Nastassia & Michael’s Tacoma Boat Elopement was so creative and fun and perfect for them as a couple!

They met on a cruise! My first questions was, “A single’s cruise?” and they both said no! It was just a regular cruise that they both decided to go on by themselves just for fun and randomly ran into each other. How fun and cool is that?!

We met up at Point Defiance Park for photos before going to Michael’s (now THEIR!) boat. These two had instant chemistry on camera and were such a breeze to work with. Really, the easiest couples to work with are the ones that are confident in their love and can just fall into being with each other regardless of where they are. These two nailed that.

After portraits, we met up with the bridal party at the pier and took out to the waters for their elopement ceremony! Michael’s dear friend officiated and did an amazing job. I could tell he really prepared to make the ceremony extra special and couldn’t help but throw in some boating jokes! That were right up my kind of humor.

One of my favorite photos is the reaction Nastassia has right after seeing Michael’s ring on his had the second after she put it on him. I think everyone teared up to see her so happy. ♥

Oh, boy. We had amazing light. There was so much love between these two. After the ceremony, we took a moment to dance and have champagne! It was my first time trying Veuve Clicquot (every “new money” person’s bucket list, am I right?) This champagne didn’t disappoint! It wasn’t until post ceremony research I found out the other bottle they had was even more impressive. Nastassia knows her champagne! Some day, I will too. 😘

I’m so proud to have photographed another couples elopement and cross country union!

Wishing you two the absolute freakin best love-filled, dance-filled, adventure-filled life the world has ever seen!!! Thank you for choosing me to document it! Sincerely, Jaclynn

A little family Wellman Update dump. Morning! I’ve struggled coming back in to write lately. I abandoned my last post in tears over the current state of The Studio. My camera bag was stolen about a year ago. Everything I’ve photographed in 2024 has been on rented equipment. Being abandoned with the children with zero […]

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]
