Hillside Farms Wedding | Candace & Christian

Aug

25

On July 14th, 2018 Candace and Christian committed to a lifetime side by side. ♥ Their wedding was held at a brand new wedding venue for Washington State! Hillside Farms is booked solid for weddings this summer. This is their first full season open for business! On the outskirts of Olympia, Washington, Hillside Lavender Farms made the perfect setting for Candace, Christian, and all of their close friends and family to celebrate. Nestled back to 650+ acres, the back drop for the ceremony was absolutely beautiful.

I was so excited when I arrived to Candace’s parents house for getting ready photos and the first look! Her parents could have their own T.V. show with how many professional grade DIY jobs they had accomplished on the property! Every time I complimented something Candace or her sister responded, “My Dad built that!” or “My Mom drew out the plans for that!”. When the dress came down from upstairs freshly steamed I couldn’t wait to photograph the delicate beading and full textured skirt. It reminded me so much of my own gown with the drop waist and details you have to touch to fully appreciate!

Candace and her bridesmaids looked amazing all day! The cake was so fun. The sunflowers were perfect for the venue. Heavenly Doughnuts made for a gorgeous doughnut spread that added so much to the wedding decor! Their amazing wedding planner, Meghan, has a great tip for dessert tables! Drape a sheet of thin tulle over the table until dessert time to keep flies off the food! It looked elegant and signaled to guest when the dessert table was open!

Candace and Christian are both Elementary School teachers! It’s so great their jobs aligned with a summer wedding and Hawaii honeymoon before they hit the classroom this fall/late summer. Between our three meetings and the wedding, I have no doubt they’re awesome teachers!

We had the most amazing sunset during their formal session! Scrolling to the bottom of this post just to see the mingle of love and sky will be worth the scroll. ♥

Thank you so much to Christian and Candace for inviting Clynn and I to document your wedding day! Your vendors, friends, and family put on quite the party! Congratulations!

The in between

Life has been very romantic lately. Unknown and confusing and both flighty and grounded all at once. I remember being 14 and seeing my entire life by your side. Life is wild. I remember a water bottle and abandoned bleachers. I remember axe body spray and the way I had never been kissed. I know […]

Nirvana & I think of you

I hope you know better than to think I’d want to be anywhere but here right now. It was true on NYE and it’s true right now in my car outside the café. This may have felt seamless. Too seamless. Happenstance. But I’m here on purpose, now. I see your soft heart and I see […]

I hope you know better

You’ll walk through a glittering white veil, uncharacteristically soft compared to what you’ll find behind it. It has no need to keep you out. You quickly realize it’s the aura within that turns most around. The texture disorients. I’ll already be inside. What do you see? Upon first impression, you’re in a desert. Interesting considering […]
