Browns Point Improvement Club

Lizzie and Robert’s wedding at the Browns Point Improvement Club was so exciting for me! I hadn’t shot a wedding since right before Christmas so I was more than ready. I first met these two what feels like a full year ago (though it was really like 10 or 11 months). As we were at the Best Western Plaza getting ready, Lizzie said, “I feel like we’ve known each other for so long!”. This is why I swear by my process of multiple in person meet ups before the big day! I felt like a friend and it made for the most fun environment.

Elizabeth’s uncle, Leon, did an AMAZING job on her hair! He also did beautiful looks on all of the bridesmaids as well. Her sister, Sam, is a nearly professional makeup hobbyist and worked some serious eye shadow magic on every one.

The Best Western Plaza

is definitely a hotel I will recommend for my Puyallup/Tacoma area brides in the future! They had breakfast and the lobby area was BEAUTIFUL! There were so many little locations for bridal party photos morning of.

The ceremony

was unlike one I’d ever photographed before. The guests watched through a window from inside as the ceremony took place right over the water on the balcony. Everything was miked really well so everyone could hear just fine. Guests stayed warm inside during a winter beach wedding and Elizabeth could be where she felt most at home; by the water.

I remember as they were going through their unity sand ceremony, there were so many seals out right in front of us!

Now that I know there’s a white box of a wedding venue (soooo good for bouncing light!) RIGHT ON one of my absolute favorite portrait locations I’ll be singing it from the roof tops! I’ve done couples and maternity sessions at Brown’s Point Lighthouse Park and always assumed that building next door was a community building or a yacht club or something. I’m so excited to find out they host weddings, too! It’s truly the best set up for beautiful wedding portraits.

The lighthouse park recently installed a white cement walkway acting like a natural light reflector if portraits are running a little behind the sun. I was in heaven with all that clean bright light.

Elizabeth & Robert are at Disney right now on their honeymoon!

I hope you two are having A BLAST and love your sneak peek photos! I had so much fun capturing your wedding, love your friends and family, and can’t wait to see you both again, soon!

Sincerely,

Jaclynn

They’re all taking great care of me, too! Working my booty offf. Trying to eat healthy and navigate adulting more […]

The in between

Life has been very romantic lately. Unknown and confusing and both flighty and grounded all at once. I remember being 14 and seeing my entire life by your side. Life is wild. I remember a water bottle and abandoned bleachers. I remember axe body spray and the way I had never been kissed. I know […]

Nirvana & I think of you

I hope you know better than to think I’d want to be anywhere but here right now. It was true on NYE and it’s true right now in my car outside the café. This may have felt seamless. Too seamless. Happenstance. But I’m here on purpose, now. I see your soft heart and I see […]

I hope you know better

You’ll walk through a glittering white veil, uncharacteristically soft compared to what you’ll find behind it. It has no need to keep you out. You quickly realize it’s the aura within that turns most around. The texture disorients. I’ll already be inside. What do you see? Upon first impression, you’re in a desert. Interesting considering […]
