Kerry Park Proposal

Dec

03

I have photographed at Kerry Park many times but this Kerry Park Proposal takes the cake!

I was so excited when John contacted me about proposing to his long time boyfriend, Jaden, at Kerry Park in Seattle! They were flying in from Texas for a mini holiday vacation. Jaden is originally from the Seattle area. John was just visiting Seattle the first time he found Jaden and planned a big Seattle date for them.

From the sounds of things, they clicked right away! Jaden moved to Texas with John not long after that first amazing date. ♥

I was so excited to see the ring that John picked out for Jaden. When I finally got close enough to check it out I was very impressed! Black diamond bling all the way around. My favorite man’s band yet. So cool.

When I asked them, “did you guys look together?!” Jaden said, “Yes, like a year ago.” hahahaha I said, “Dang John, you took your time!”. We had such a fun time together!

One story I hear almost every proposal: Couples often get a little uneasy or “distant” right before a proposal. It’s probably the first (and hopefully last) time best friends try and keep a secret from each other! Keeping secrets to make surprises is HARD! So if your bff/significant other seems a little weird for no freakin reason, there might just be a ring waiting for you so be compassionate. There’s allot of pressure one might feel right before asking the biggest question of their life up to that point. You never know what someone might be going through that needs to stay a little further from you for a minute.

All of the other holiday visitors at Kerry Park from all over Seattle were so happy for them! There was clapping and congratulations and I was filled with joy to see such a great community celebrating love in Seattle.

Here was the plan: Jaden knew they were getting couples photos taken while on their trip to Seattle. John’s plan was to propose a few photos in. It worked out PERFECTLY!

A BIG BIG congratulations to John & Jaden!!! My only regret is that I won’t be in Texas to go through wedding planning with you! ♥

We’ve done pretty well on our summer bucket list! Top of the kiddo to-do’s was a fire and smore’s. Not pictured: Pizza Sandwiches wrapped in foil. They weren’t a huge hit. This was our last family day at Am’s house in Rockport before she moved. I’m happy we were able to make some cozy memories […]

I google myself once in a while. Not always a great idea as you spend more and more time working with thousands of people over the years but I thought I’d give it a go today. I was pleasantly surprised to find my name included under Tacoma Top 10 Wedding Photographers. I was scrolling through […]

Sarah and Michael’s family hosted a cozy, close friends and family, Private Estate Wedding in Ronald, Washington! When I arrived, it had begun to rain. Luckily, the family was prepared with a covered event tent just in case. The rain hung around through the ceremony (with a little thunder, too!) and couple’s photos. Then, cleared […]
